Usually not a whole team, but yes to the basics: automated deployment, a backup that is actually tested and monitoring that alerts someone. Without them every release is a risk and every outage is discovered by customers. So we start with a short review and propose the sensible minimum for the stage you are at. In most cases that is one well-kept server or a managed cloud service, not a cluster. As load and team size grow, the same foundation can be extended without starting over, and you pay only for what you need today. We also avoid long commitments up front: you start with a small step that shows value, then decide together whether to continue, and nothing is installed that your team could not maintain.

For a single service or a few small ones, Docker Compose on one server or a managed container service is usually enough, and it is simpler to operate and cheaper. Kubernetes starts to justify itself when there are many services, a need to scale automatically with load, several teams deploying in parallel or a high-availability requirement. We recommend the simplest tool that meets the need, say plainly when a cluster is not worth it, and build things so that moving to one later is possible without a rewrite. Our review states in writing which parts of the infrastructure truly justify the complexity and which are better left simple, so you do not pay for tooling that your team neither needs nor will be able to maintain.

We build the new environment in parallel, copy the data and files, and run it on a test address until everything is verified. Before the move we lower the DNS record lifetimes, and in a quiet window we sync the last changes and redirect traffic. The old server stays up for a few days as a fallback, so rolling back takes minutes. Large databases are moved with continuous replication, and the domain, email and certificates are checked in advance so nothing breaks along the way. Before the move we also write a rollback plan so every step is reversible, and your team knows exactly what to do if something does not behave as expected on the day.

We start by measuring: the bill is broken down by service and environment to find what is paid for but not used. Typically that turns up servers left over from an old project, disks with no server attached, machines larger than their load, test environments running through nights and weekends, and expensive data transfer between regions. After the cleanup we look at long-term commitments, moving to a cheaper provider such as Hetzner where it fits, and budget alerts. That keeps the bill predictable even as usage grows. We report every change and its effect before and after. At the end you get a short report explaining each change, its effect on performance and anything still open, so the savings can be kept over time rather than creeping back.

It depends on the service level you choose. In the basic model monitoring sends an alert to your team and we handle the incident during working hours, within response times agreed in writing. In an extended model you can define out-of-hours on-call, with a high-priority alert and a faster response. In both cases there is a written runbook and a tested backup, so even a non-specialist knows what to do. Response times and on-call terms are set in advance and in writing, according to what your business actually needs. If your business depends on the service being up all the time, we can also add redundancy, so that a failure of one server does not take the whole service down with it.

Everything is yours. Cloud accounts and domains are registered in your name, and we work through permissions that you can revoke at any moment. You receive the infrastructure code in your own repository, the pipeline and monitoring configuration, and an operations document explaining how to deploy, how to restore a backup and how to respond to an alert. There is no lock-in: if you decide to work with someone else or move operations to an in-house team, you can do it with what you already hold, and we hand the knowledge over in a handover session. If you already have a development team, we fit into its workflow rather than replacing it, and we leave everything documented and readable for whoever takes over next.
